Invitation to the symposium
On behalf of organizing committee of the International Symposium on Intercalation Compounds (ISIC), we have the honor to invite you to attend ISIC17, which will be held in Sendai, Japan from 12 to 16 May 2013. The focus of the symposium will be on the physics, chemistry, and materials science of intercalated compounds. ISIC started in 1977 in La Napoule, France, and is held biannually. Over 250 researchers from all over the world attended the recent symposiums. Your colleagues or other researchers in the similar fields are respectfully invited to attend the symposium. Detailed information about ISIC17 is available on the web site. We look forward to hosting you in Sendai in May 2013.

Scope
ISIC17 will provide an opportunity for discussing new developments in this field of science. The subjects included are:
- Intercalation compounds
- Graphite, carbon, and graphene
- Zeolites, inclusion compounds, and related materials
- Metallic hydrides
- Nanomaterials including clathrates and clusters
- Electrochemical functional materials (lithium battery, supercapacitors, fuel cell)
- Hydrogen-storage materials
- Cationic and anionic clays
- Nano composites
- Microporous and mesoporous materials
- Biomaterials and drug delivery systems
- Other layered materials: cationic and anionic clays, transition metal chalcogenides, oxides, phosphates, etc.
- Host-guest interaction in nanospace
- Nano-composites and nano-technologies
- New materials science using nano space
- Metal-organic frameworks & Latent porous complex
